Child & Teen Counselling
Susan’s warm and down-to-earth counselling style supports children and teenagers in a very practical way by identifying their strengths and assisting them to develop a strong sense of self that will help them stay steady and true to themselves as they navigate life.
Child and Teen Counselling
There can be many challenges for children, teens and adolescents including anxiety, depression, social and academic pressures, navigating social media and technology… you name it. As they develop they can experience many physical and emotional changes as they try new behaviours, play different roles, and learn to build relationships.
Schooling and education play a huge role in the life of children and teens and learning to navigate the ups and downs can be a difficult road. Children and teens often feel that no one is listening or understanding what they are feeling and this can play out in behaviours that parents and teachers do not understand, and there can be confusion, withdrawal and sometimes there can be angry outbursts.
Susan has extensive experience working with young people, and is known for her warm, caring, spacious, super practical and down-to-earth manner. She offers child and teen counselling sessions online or in person at her Lismore clinic.
About Susan Evans
Susan comes with a wealth of life experience and love of community. In her role as manager of a large retail store, she has had the privilege to work with hundreds of young people over the past 24 years.
In her counselling practice, Susan loves working with young people. She encourages and respects their views and ideas by giving them the space to express their feelings and emotions in a safe environment. As all children respond differently to life changes, Susan supports in a very practical way by identifying their strengths and assists them to develop a strong sense of self that will help them stay steady and true to themselves and navigate life with ease.
Susan recognises the essence of each individual in a way that allows them to see that they have the inner qualities and strengths that they can draw on to resolve anything that comes their way.
What people are saying about Susan
“Susan is a practical, down-to-earth and hugely warm counsellor – an absolute God-send for those seeking a harmonious way forward in any relationship.
We contacted Susan to assist us in finding ways forward to reconcile a deteriorating relationship with our estranged son. At every meeting, Susan bought her all to the situation, without bias, helping all of us to reach helpful realisations about our situation and navigate what steps would be required next for each of us to be in harmony with each other. Susan is non-imposing, thorough, and not much escapes her astute eye – she has a beautiful informality and transparency that naturally puts people at ease so that they can bring their true selves to the table.
We highly recommend her services for adult/child counselling and especially if you’ve tried a few counsellors but are not feeling the authenticity.”
